Long ago, in the dense jungles of Nepal, there lived a beautiful parrot named Sundari. Her vibrant green feathers shimmered in the sunlight, and her bright red beak was as sharp as her mind. Sundari was loved by all the animals in the forest, not only for her beauty but also for her kind heart and bravery.
One day, a great fire broke out in the jungle. The flames spread quickly, devouring trees and threatening the lives of all the creatures. As animals fled in panic, Sundari flew high into the sky, surveying the destruction below. Her heart ached for the trees she called home, but more than that, she feared for her fellow animals who couldn’t escape as easily.
In the midst of the chaos, Sundari spotted a family of deer trapped in a ring of fire. The mother deer cried out for help, but no animal dared go near the blaze. Sundari, determined to save them, flew to the nearby river, dipped her wings in the water, and returned to the fire, shaking the drops over the flames.
Again and again, she flew back and forth, carrying only a few drops of water each time. The fire was fierce, and her efforts seemed futile, but Sundari refused to give up. The other animals watched in disbelief, some even mocking her for trying.
“Why waste your time? You’re too small to stop the fire!” a monkey jeered from the safety of a distant tree.
But Sundari did not listen. Her heart was set on saving the deer.
Suddenly, the gods above took notice of the brave parrot’s efforts. Moved by her courage and selflessness, they decided to help. A great storm cloud formed over the forest, and soon, rain began to pour down, extinguishing the fire in minutes.
The forest was saved, and the animals cheered for Sundari. The mother deer, tears in her eyes, thanked the parrot for her bravery.
“You may be small, Sundari, but your heart is as vast as the sky,” she said.
From that day on, Sundari was known as the bravest creature in the jungle. Her story spread far and wide, reminding everyone that even the smallest acts of courage can inspire great change.
